Hai…… my name is Irianti Pratiwi. I the student the Jendral Soedirman University and just step on the semester 4. My intention sent this email I wanted to know about the international student who attended lectures in Augsburg. Did this student receive the support that was extensive from the university? And whether they had the good achievement? Moreover what criteria a ray student got the scholarship? Possibly was enough that I want to asked, I hoped for the reply as soon as possible. Forgive me when having words – impolite words I said thanks...
Reply from Augsburg University
Thank you for your email and for expressing an interest in Augsburg. You
asked specifically about students who attend lectures at Augsburg and
the level of support they receive. I can tell you from my own experience
as a student at Augsburg that the support from faculty is incredible.
The average class size is 16 students and all faculty have office hours
so you can reach them for questions when you need to.
International student scholarships are awarded based on your cumulative
grade point average. You will have to have your University level
transcripts sent to an official credential evaluator and get a
course-by-course evaluation. This will tell me your grade point average
on a 4.0 scale and allow Augsburg to transfer in as many of your
previous credits as possible.
Here are a couple of other things you can do to learn more about
Augsburg:
*If you haven't already had a chance, take a look at the International
application for admission. You can find it by clicking on this link:
http://www.augsburg.edu/admissions/international/application/
*I also encourage you to take a look at the Homemade website. It is
designed and run by current students and will be a great way for you to
get a perspective of our campus from current Auggies. You'll find
photos, blogs, videos and more. Here is the link:
http://www.augsburg.edu/admissions/homemade/index.html
*If you are on Facebook, I encourage you to become a fan of "Auggies
International". This is the place where you will meet prospective and
current Augsburg international students and be able to ask them
questions about campus, academics, etc.
I hope this email is helpful and that it gives you a good start. Please
don't hesitate to ask questions. I am more than happy to help and I look
forward to hearing back from you soon!

Dear Riskilla,
Hi, Riskilla. Whats up? How is your study in USA? I hope you enjoys your study. By the way, I need your help to answer my question. As you have already know, it has been my dream to study overseas just like you are. I know that to realize that dream I must fulfill certain conditions. One of the most important things is we should have good English language skill. In this case I realize for sure that my English is not really good yet. Thus, I ask you who can speak English better to help me out. Anyway, do you have any suggestions for me to improves my English? Well, I think that's all. Thanks for your attention, I'll be waiting for your reply. Catch you later Riskilla!

Answer :
To:Ali Akbar akbardrag_on@yahoo.com
Hi.
I've been really good here. Lots of assignments from my school, but im still having fun, tough.
Oh, you're doing a project or something? That's awesome, good luck for that one.
Well, that's a good question anyway. Let me lend my hand for you... .
You know what i'm actually not that good in english, but i'll try.
Honestly, when i first came in US i was blind about the language here, eventough i had already learned about English in my previous schools in Indonesia. It felt like i could hear people on the street speaking with their language, but i still didn't know what i was listening to, and i could see anything here, which is too much different from the country where i was before, but i also didn't know what they were. So, it was pretty much like living a new life. Anyway you're absolutely right about how to speak a foreign language fluently, especially for some people, it felt like a really big problem. But, actually, there's nothing to be worried at all. It all depends on the situation we're in. I've been in US, and i will automatically be influenced with the surroundings. I have to speak with their language, firstly by such a limited vocabularies i have, haha. But on and on, i learned much from what i told to every people i have ever talked to, and also from what they told me. So its all about a habit, language is about habit and culture. The more we can adapt with a culture, especially the good one, the easier it would be, for us to learn the language. And my suggestion for you, is that you have to speak English more often. It ain't necessarily that you have to be in a country where English does exist, anyway you can find some friends in other countries, e.g. through the social networks, like myspace or facebook. That's what i did in the past, and im sure that it is gonna work for you. Do you join some kind of English club there? well, it is also good for you, because you can practice English more often than you've ever done. so that, you can speak English fluently.
Hey, i've ever heard from a friend of mine, that you're now taking an international classes at college??
Well it means that you've already learn a lot... .
See you soon when i get back there... .

Hi Ratna,
Nice to meet you. Are you on facebook too? You can add me as a friend if you are.
Yes I live in Toronto, Canada. Have you ever been to Canada or the USA? Our culture in Canada shares some similarities to the culture in the USA. We have 2 official languages here, English and French. So we learn both English and French in school. But they only really speak French in certain parts of the country, such as in the province of Quebec. So I forgot how to speak most of the French I learned in school. There's a lot to learn about Canada, so I think to get a better explanation you can go here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada
After you learn more I can answer any more questions you have. Say hi to Ullie for me!

This is answer for your questions
-Indomie Goreng (Fried Noodles)
Indomie’s bestselling variant, Indomie Goreng, entered the market in 1982 and has since been in demand in many parts of the world including the US, Australia, UK, Middle East and China. Don’t miss out testing the various flavors offered
-Indomie Rebus (Soup Noodles)
When hunger strikes, there’s no better solution than gobbling down a bowl of Indomie Rebus. With a simple three-minute preparation, this Indomie variant has been making its way into local colloquialisms resulting in slangs such as ‘Internet’ (Indomie, telur (eggs) and kornet (corned beef)), ‘Interjunet’ (plus keju (cheese) and kornet (corned beef)) and ‘Intersay’ (plus vegetables). -Indomie Rasa Nusantara (Regional Tastes)
As a proudly Indonesian product, Indomie is also available in a number of traditional flavors including Soto Medan, Soto Banjar Limau Kuit, Soto Betawi and Soto Makassar. Tired with soto? There are many other variants – Mie Cakalang and Chicken Satay included – that are worth a try.
-Indomie Premium (Special Quality Instant Noodles)
For those wanting something extra from their instant noodles, Indomie has a curly noodle type made from superior-quality wheat flour with additional toppings. This product can be enjoyed both with and without soup.
-Indomie Jumbo
Indomie presents bigger portions for those with even larger tastes! If one packet of Indomie noodles seems meager but two is too much, opt for an Indomie Jumbo to embark on that ‘just-right’ culinary journey.

Student exchange program means students from UNSOED will come to take few subject in Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). Students come to study at UUM for 1 semester. At the same time we also plan to send our students to UNSOED.
Both universities agreed to grant credit transfer to certain subjects. Please choose subject that you can apply for transfer credit after you finish your study in UUM. That is mean, you do not have to take the subject anymore in UNSOED. Please check with your department what subjects are granted credit transfer. It's a pleasure to know a friend of my great friend shows her willingness asking me question.
I have spent most of my lifetime in Germany, yet I'm not a real German, neither from my dad side nor my mother's side.
Though I am still a High School student in Apian-Gymnasium Ingolstadt, in Ingolstadt, Bavaria. It doesn't mean I know nothing about the "which University" we better go to. I really suggest you to try to get information in the University of Ingolstadt. It's very old one but it's quality is just as much as length of its age.
Hope this information useful.

London is beautiful city for me. We can visit interesting places, such as Big Ben, Tower of London, Pubs and Bar, London's Department Store, book Shops in London, etc. London is bookworm heaven and home to Europe's largest bookshop.
Big Ben is one of London's best-known landmark, and looks most spectacular at night when the clock faces are illuminated. The name Big Ben actually refers not to the clock-tower itself, but to the thirteen ton bell hung within. The bell was named after the first commissioner of works, Sir Benjamin Hall.

Sorry for the super late reply. I just got back from brisbane yesterday ^^.
I guess I will reply your email with this email address, as to prove that you really are doing contacts with people from overseas.
For the introduction,
I live in Brisbane - a quiet peaceful city in Queensland, Australia. As you know, it's practically summer in Indonesia while in Australia now,it's winter season. My favourite season of all. Mmm..About brisbane, It's a coastal city. Well, in australia, the population is concentrated in the coast area. And, it's a multicultural country, reflected in food, dress, and city theme. In food, there is no special australian food. The food adapted from other countries, such as kebab, satay, etc. You might know already that the real Australia name is The commonwealth of Australia (British). In dress, we mainly adapt western kinda dress (same as indonesia). We had no national dress. But, immigrants have theirs (Of course^^). As for city theme, almost every city has its theme. For example; Glen Innes city - The Celtic country.
There is no independence day in here, but we have national day called ANZAC (Australia and New Zealand Army Corps) day, a remembrance of a battle in Gallipoli and commemorated every 25th April. Other interesting thing in Australia would be Australia's Big Things, a large scluptures of things. I will listed the well-known Big things;Big Pinneaple and Big Golden Gumboot - In Queensland, Big Banana, Big Golden Guitar, Big Ant, Big Merino, and Big Avocado - In New South Wales, Big Lobster and Big Orange- In South Australia, Big Mushroom - in Australian capital territory, Big Strawberry and Big Watermelon in Victoria, lastly, Big Crocodile - In Western Australia.
Mmm..what should i explain next? I think that's all for a start. It's quite a massive intro for you ^o^. Please let me know if you wanted to know about other aspects of Australia or anything ^^.

RESEARCH
Current Research Projects
I am currently engaged in two research projects. The first is an ethnographic study of community organizations in Indonesia that engage in HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment among homosexual men and warias (male-to-female transgenders). This research builds on my prior work on sexuality in Indonesia (see my books The Gay Archipelago: Sexuality and Nation in Indonesia (Princeton, 2005) and A Coincidence of Desires: Anthropology, Queer Studies, Indonesia (Duke, 2007)). It also builds on my work in HIV/AIDS prevention in Indonesia since 1992 (my first two visits to Indonesia were as a health outreach worker, before beginning graduate training in anthropology).
My second current research project concerns human culture in “virtual worlds,” persistent “places” online where persons interact and forge new forms of selfhood and society. Throughout human history, technologies—from the wheel to the book and beyond—have shaped forms of identity, community, and society. This second research project originates in the realization that we are on the verge of one of the most massive technological transformations in human history, the creation of societies on the Internet. The social sciences and humanities have only begun to acknowledge the speed with which online societies are becoming taken for granted among the young and are spreading among all age groups and around the world. We must develop tools and theories for investigating these online societies and their increasingly fundamental impact on human relations.
In my research in the virtual world Second Life, I apply the same ethnographic methods I have used in my work in Indonesia to examine virtual culture, as well as to explore how ethnographic methods much change for online contexts. In this virtual world my avatar (Tom Bukowski) has an office, "Ethnographia," which you can visit within Second Life (it is located in Dowden, click here for a link). As Tom Bukowski, I study cybersociality in Second Life using participant observation, interviews, focus groups, and the analysis of texts ranging from newsletters to blogs. A key element of my approach is thus to pair the study of virtual worlds with "traditional" ethnographic methods, paying attention to moments of breakdown when the social relations of the virtual world in question resist ethnographic interpretation as generally understood. The first product of this research is my book Coming of Age in Second Life: An Anthropologist Explores the Virtually Human (Princeton, 2008). I am often asked about questions of methodology in the study of virtual worlds, and several of my recent and forthcoming publications address questions of methodology (which I also discuss in chapter 3 of Coming of Age in Second Life).

my name is PUJI I'm from Indonesia...
i know your name from my Friend.
i have assignment from my lecturer to make contact with people who lives abroad
and then i found you.
i hope you don't mind if i ask you some questions..
1. why do you choose to work in Australia rather than in Indonesia?
2. what the nature of your job?
3. what are you responsible for in your job?
4. is there any different treatment for the local workers and foreign workers in Australia?
thank you so much for your kindness to answer my questions..
Hi my name is Nidya but you can call me Ai (that's my nick name).
I've been living in Sydney for 4years. Hopefully, I can help you with all my answers.
1.There are some reasons why did I choose to work in Australia.
First of all, most of western countries would pay your wages based on hour and I think that's pretty much fair and also it's kind of motivation to work better.
Secondly, I can learn so many things in a new country and gain international experience which is truly important now. Because I have to deal with many people especially international students from different background and characteristic. Therefore, I able to view the world from new perspectives, hold further concern with international politics and show more cross-cultural interest.
Lastly, I feel more independent to cope in my own life. Both personal and professional life because I must make my own decision in every situation.
2.My nature of my job is pretty much comfortable and friendly atmosphere. All the staff can share their ideas or opinion. And sometimes, they just discussed about their culture. I believe that's very helpful to understand each other.
3.My responsible in my job is to help international students to get what they want. For example, if there is a new student from Indonesia want to study and live in Australia, I can help them with the right advice and assistance.
4.I think there is not any different treatment for the local workers and foreign workers as long as we can do a good performance as a employee. However, of course the government will protect all the local people to get a job first rather than foreign people.

Tanggal: Selasa, 19 Mei, 2009, 2:00 AM
Dear Nurma,
The living cost incurs in Malaysia varies according to the location where you'll be living. For example, one meal in Nilai (the town I'm living in at the time) may cost you aroung RM 6-8 while in KL you may spend around RM 10 instead. But I tend to spend around RM 10-15 per day for food. For laundry, I think the price is standardized at RM 2 per kilo (dry clothes). Even so, since I'm renting a house, the owner provides a washing machine so that I can save my laundry cost for other things.
For your information, here is my brief expense allocation for a month (in average):
House rent-----------------------------------------RM 127.50
Utility (electricity, water, internet)-------------RM 75.00
Car rent--------------------------------------------RM 100.00
Food*-----------------------------------------------RM 500.00
Recreation, other stuffs--------------------------RM 200.00
Before I live off campus, I stay in the campus dorm, costing me RM 930.00/ 4 months. I also have to pay for a better internet package for RM 180/ 3months.
I hope this e-mail can give you a picture about living in Malaysia.
This budget ma also varied due to personal preferences and way of life.
Thank you for your attention.

Manda

Hem,Living cost in The Netherlands?well,it depends in which city you live. I'm in Arnhem, and it's quite small (Kinna like Depok, my hometown in Indonesia).
I pay 3500 Euro per year (it's about 260 per month,or you can just calculate it yourself)for the flat. It includes water, electricity and gas. It's quite cheap though since it's for student (student housing).
hem, about the food,it's about 40 - 60 Euro per month. It's cheaper if you cook it yourself. For the laundry,we have it in our basement.2 washing machines and 1 dryer. Each of them needs coin. And we can buy it from the caretaker.1,5 Euro each.
and for the tuition fee, I pay 3500 Euro per year. (it's coinsidencely the same).
is that enough?

Dear Hany,
In answer to your questions and more, please read the following.
All students who have graduated from institutions outside of the United States are required to have their credentials pre-evaluated by a recognized foreign credential evaluation service unless your education was completed in the U.S.
If your education took place outside of the U.S., you must obtain a course-by-course evaluation rather than a general one. However, for the Masters’ program, you need only a general evaluation showing that you have the U.S. equivalent of a Bachelors’ degree. Please visit http://naces.org/members.htm (we need the course by course evaluation)
As far as transfer credits into the Bachelors' program, we can accept up to 93 semester units. We can accept up 6 transfer units for the Masters’ program.
In an effort to hasten your enrollment process, we require that you first apply for admissions. I have attached an application so that you may see those requirements.
Also, we offer open enrollment.
That means that you can apply anytime year round. Once accepted, you can finish your program in as little as 9 months or you may take as long as 5 years.
For the Bachelors' program, we require that you submit an application, a $75.00 application fee, a resume, your official college transcripts and any certificates of specialized training that you may have received (preferably in English). Masters’ programs require no certificates of specialized training.
There is no GRE required at all. You can apply online (www.calcoast.edu) or you can fax these items to 714) 547-5777. We will confirm all documents upon receipt.
Once those items are on file with us, we will conduct an academic evaluation (1-2 days). Once the evaluation is completed, we will notify you immediately and send you a Registration & Enrollment Agreement. You will have a due date on this, but most people want to begin right away. You would need to sign the Enrollment Agreement and mail the original back to our school along with a tuition payment. We offer 3 generous pay plans.
Plan A: If a student pays the total tuition for the degree program, in a single payment within two weeks of the date of acceptance of this agreement, they are entitled to deduct $300.00 from the total program tuition. The University must receive the tuition balance within that two-week period to qualify for the discount.
Plan B: If a student pays fifty percent (50%) of the total tuition for the degree program, in a single payment within two weeks of the date of acceptance of this agreement, they are entitled to deduct $150.00 from the unpaid balance. The University must receive the 50% payment within that two-week period to qualify for the discount. The remaining balance will be paid at $100.00 per month, beginning one month from the official enrollment date. No interest will be charged on the unpaid balance, however late fees will be assessed on all past due balances.
Plan C: A student will make a payment of $500.00 toward the total tuition for the degree program in a single payment within two weeks of the date of acceptance. The remaining balance will be paid at $100.00 per month, beginning one month from the official enrollment date. No interest will be charged on the unpaid balance, however late fees will be assessed on all past due balances.

PART 2
*The non-refundable application fee of $75.00 is in addition to the cost per unit charge.
These fees do not include books. Rather than purchasing your books, we encourage you to rent them.
We rent books at $25.00 each for a 90-day period of time. There is a $50.00 deposit required for each book, but the deposits simply "roll over" to each new set of books. For example, if you need the first two books, you would pay a total of $150.00 (including deposits). For the 3rd & 4th books, you would pay only $50.00 (assuming there is no damage) and so on.
You are required to pay the costs of shipping the books (through DSL).
Each course has 4 unit exams, which include 25 multiple-choice questions. In addition to the unit exams, there are several essay questions. These requirements can be done online, by fax or through the mail.
California Coast University has developed comprehensive Study Guides for each course designed to coordinate and sequence the learning materials for you.
Study Guides are based on specific college level textbooks, which may be obtained from local bookstores, the publisher, or the University’s lending library which is available by telephone, fax, e-mail or online via Coast Connection.
Please feel free to contact me any time, as I am happy to assist you.

Hi Esa,
yes I am working while studying here in Sydney.
The differences is of course about the way of thinking. In Indonesia youth are tend to do the 'ordinary ways' such as study, get their degree and working followed by marriage. In Sydney, young people age 18 are start to living by themselves, working and pay their own expenses while doing study and they also have amazing parents (who exactly the same with my parents) who let their children to choose their own path of life without interfering. And about the culture, as Australia lives their western culture, there are heaps of differences but in short way, in Australia young people have their full rights to state their opinions without any fear or fear of being impolite because western people have a very open minded about everything which helps all the people in here live in harmony way more that Asian.
hope it helps :)

Straight from the horse’s mouth, if you avoid the swine flu, Right now health officials are advising to keep your hands away from your mouth, eyes and nose. Use hand sanitizer often and of course stay away from ill people who might be contagious or have flu-like symptoms. Stay away from infected areas where swine flu is prominent. Cancel any Mexico travel, at this time

Hi Giat,
Thanks for your response and interest of studying abroad. We represent 5 Dutch Universities with many different programs offered. All of our programs are conducted in English. Our universities are based on practical approach, therefore within 3-4 years of study, students is required to do internship for 1 semester (5 months) and 1 semester of exchange (study abroad), and another internship during thesis.
50% of tuition fees (Euro.7000-7200) is already deducted by the university as a scholarship for students from a few countries, incl. Indonesia. Thus, the tuition fees are Euro.3500 / year. The only university offers an extra scholarship of Euro.2000 is Fontys University for Bachelor program in Electrical Engineering and ICT. Thus, the tuition fee is Eur.1700 / year. This extra scholarship applies for yr.1 & 2, with requirements: TOEFL 550, minimum grades of 7 for (Math, physics), good motivation statement. For the whole package fee which covers tuition fee, accommodation, insurance, visa and residence permit will be Euro.9100 (ABS), Euro.9200 (Fontys and Stenden/Drenthe University) 10,000 (The Hague) 13,000 (NHTV)

Ok I will answer your question, Already we've seen job cuts at many Australian major corporations.know that many small business are also finding it tough to keep their staff employed
The government has been up front about the fact that Australians will be affected, growth will slow, unemployment will rise given the deteriorating global outlook,I intend to be up front with the Australian nation about what we are doing and what we can do about it, major companies including BHP Billiton announced cutting off over 3,000 local jobs after deciding to shed 6,000 positions worldwide, while leading retailer Harvey Norman also forecast a series of job cuts.

Hi hw are you ?????????????????????
I have already knew Indonesia, since I was young. I think, you know about my country(East Timor). I spent most of my childhood world in there. Moreover, I finished my senior high school in there as well. I can speak your language. Because, from elementary school till senior high school "bahasa Indonesia" become the main language in our school. Therefore, if you ask me, about how deep my understanding about your country, I think there are no words that can describe it. Because, I know a lot about your country.
At the moment, I am doing my study in Adelaide(south Australia). I am looking for permanent residence in the future. But, it is only my dream. The first goal that I want to achieve, is to complete my study. Because, petroleum engineering is the course that really hard for me, and it needs a huge effort. However, I always keep in mind that, where there is a will, there is always a way to solve it.
In respect of my daily activity is simple. From monday till friday, I have a class which start at 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. We have a break on the weekend, and I usually go to play soccer with my team mates on saturday. The next day, after go to mass, I also spend my spare time to practise piano, guitar and clarinet. That`s all that I want to share to you young buddy...........cee ya

Question (rizaliku@gmail.com):
Assalamu alaikum wr.wb
Good night my brother Fajar Ardian. I am Rizali Ahmad. How are you?. I have assignment Business Communication. I want to ask you about what different system lecturer in Singapore especially Nanyang Technological University if compare University in Indonesia?. thank you.
Wassalam.
Reply ( fajarkoe@gmail.com ):
Waalaikumussalam Wr. Wb.
Good night my brother. I am fine, thank you.
To the best of my knowledge, the differences between the systems used
in the universities in Indonesia with systems used in the universities
in Singapore are not much. They both use academic unit system, or
known in Indonesia as SKS. This system In addition to that, they also
use GPA system, or known in Indonesia as IPK.
However, the differences between them can be seen in the facilities
the universities have and the students studying in the universities.
In my opinion the facilities in Singapore's universities are
relatively better. The students in Singapore's universities come from
many more countries, which enables the students to experience and
appreciate many different cultures.
I hope that this answers your question.

Hey parameita...
So many options you can choose, but you should to visit the cold weather of Baguio City and Tagaytay. Or you can go to the cooler and crisper air of Sagada, a faforite backpacking haven full of nature treks, waterfalls and caves besides seeing the famous hanging coffins.
Enjoy your holiday...
If you need more information you can call me again...
